Our Partners

The FCT Secondary Education Board maintains a mutually beneficial liason with relevant Professionals, Educations/Institutions/Bodies and Associations and reaches out to the General Public, Educational Institutions, Researchers, Students at all levels, School heads, Teachers, Parents, National Examination Council (NECO), West African Examination Council (WAEC), Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), as well as Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) such as the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), others are Local and International Development Partners such as Education Trust Fund (ETF), UNICEF, WHO, UNESCO, PTDF, NNPC, British Council, MTN, CHEVRON, SHELL, FAST, COWBELL, Junior Achievers Nigeria (JAN), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), INDOMIE, Sport Organizations, National/International Organizations participation/Collaboration as well as harnessing all available educational opportunities among others.

Our Objectives

  • To provide all Junior School Leavers in the FCT with opportunity to attend Senior Secondary Education without discrimination
  • To develop and promote Nigeria languages, art and culture in the context of world's cultural heritage.
  • To inspire students with a desire for self-discipline, self-improvemnet and achievement of excellence.
  • To ensure that all FCT Public Senior Secondary Schools fully implement the National Policy on Education (NPE).
  • To encourage community participation through Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) and School Based Management Committee (SBMC) activities.
  • To recruit teaching and non-teaching staff and also embark on capacity building of staff with the view to improving their performance.

Our Mandates

  • Undertaking new capital projects.
  • Setting up of an effective functional supervisory unit.
  • Management of Public Secondary Schools in the FCT.
  • Training and retraining of teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Posting and deployment of staff including inter-state transfer
  • Carryout such other functions as the secretariat may from time to time assign to it.
  • Disbursement of funds accruing to it from thee government of FCT Administration.
  • Recruitment, appointment, promotion and discipline of teaching and non-teaching staff of the Board.
